Topic: My new mobo
This is my new mobo I got for Christmas. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a
6813128387
It's got all the expansion slots I want with 6 SATA and 4 USB and it supports my current AM2 processors as well as AM3 for an upgrade I plan sometime next year. My only concern is it supports DDR2 1333+(up to 16GB) and not DDR3.
Should I go for DDR3 now or will I be good on DDR2 for another year with 4 slots capable of 16GB of memory?
Also, return policy is 15 days from when it was bought so I have to decide fast.

From what I understand DDR2 will be fine for quite a while... especially if you have enough for 16gb.

Re: My new mobo
DDR2 is going to run for a while, and the good thing about DDR2 is it will only get cheaper and cheaper ... i have had DDr3 for about 9 months now or so, and i can HARDLY tell the difference ... but remember i up graded from 8 gigs of DDr2 to 12 gigs of DDr3 ... so my computer was super fast to start.
I would not worry too much about DDr2 .... take advantage of the cheapness of the chips (max it out 16 gigs!!!!).
Tho if you really wanna be up to speed with everything ... I'd get a full refund and get a board that supports the i7 and DDR3 ... thats where it's at right now, though you will be paying much money for the ram and chip ... (and you'd have to get the i7 right off the bat and not next year as you plan.)

hmm personally i wud go with a ddr3 mobo... though you have a tendancy for sucking cock - so maybe you shud stick with the ddr2.
