8GB iPod Touch is $199. Your thing is $119.

That's $80 spent for an 8gb HDD, wifi, portable, music player, gaming device, web browser and 5000 other things. Jalibreak it and you can get paid apps for free, unapproved apps for torrents/porn/gameboy games etc.

http://www.iclooly.com/products.html is only $39 and it's the best available unless you buy something with speakers. You could even build your own out of a bean bag or a block of wood.

The iPod Touch and iPhone are the best devices you can get when jailbroken. The only thing holding them back vs the Droid and other portable devices it that Apple and AT&T don't want you to customize it.

iPod is meant to be portable not bedside. And if all it can do is use ethernet instea of wifi then the iPod is better. And as for Apple products being useless that's only an argument when running Apple software. Jailbreaking is gives you limitless options combined with the built in speaker, wifi, accelerometer, headphone jack, speaker, touch screen with multitouch and web browser.

I'm not quite sure why people are having so fucking much problem to understand

1. The Chumby One and the iPod touch/iphone are targeting completely different market segments, and they are not direct rivals in ANY WAY.

2. The Chumby One is 99 euros in Finland and the cheapest ipod touch is 199 euros, that is 2x the price. The Chumby One does exactly what its meant to do neatly, and coming and saying "lol haj get the 2x priced one that does that but wierdly and retardedly" is fucking retarded.

3. The developement packages offered by Apple are fucking retarded and means you gotta pay for them, the developement community behind the Chumby is very nice with a fuck load of developers are helping eachother out. Apple will do FUCK ALL to the developers other than block their applications at their best chanse.

6. The Chumby One is meant for hackers and developers to go wild, you can install pretty fucking anything into it as nothing is soldered and it runs Linux busybox. And it not the biggest problem if it dies since its only 99 euros.

Jailbreak the iPod Touch, and you have a limitless device. The Jailbreak scene has all the apps you could think off, plus some that you wouldn't think of.

Apple doesn't need to release it's sourcecode, when you've got a jailbroken device.
