Topic: Good times in the army
Don't have that many/good photos, since it really is seldom we have the chance to take our cameras out.
These photos are from the 14 weeks I spent in the reconnaissance officer school. By far the worst time of my entire life, but now that it's over, it feels really fucking good and really fucking worth it. Still have a bit under 5 months left as officer cadet, but now its a lot more chill.
During my officer school we had 6x one week trainings in the forest and several 1 day trainings. In the forest, we slept 0-2h/night, were on the move at all times, ate 1 meal/24h that we prepared ourselves. Our backpack weighed around 40-60kg, depending on the missions. If the enemy would spot us at any time, we'd be forced to run 1-3km to our rendezvous spot.
We had a number of marches, 20-60km each. The marches were either by foot, bike or ski - always with the backpack on. We had one 21km run, with only 15kg and our rifle.
^Just to give you an idea of what I've been spending my "free" time on the past months ![]()
Chilling with my rifle with night-vision aim and the backpack
Built a place for us to sleep (normally we wouldn't have a fire, cus we'd be spotted, but this time it was part of the training
An other type of place to sleep
Makin' some food yo
What the tent looked like from the inside, whenever we had time to put it up
Doing a bit of running with our beloved backpack
Just hanging out with our backpacks
Gonna do some reconing
Taking a dude captive
We blew several mines on one exercise, this is one of them (in the background you can see the black sheet that's been raped by a claymore we blew)
Me hanging out in our room after we'd packed our stuff and were ready to leave officerschool
